2009 Vin Knight Medal Awards night
At a gala event at the Palladium at Crown, the 2009 Vin Knight Medal was awarded to Lisa Miles
in a tense vote counting which had the suspense of a Hitchcock movie.
Lisa & her partner David had a fabulous season culminating in the 2
year old filly Led Suitcase's win in the Breeders' Crown Final at
Tabcorp Park in August. Congratulations to Lisa and all the other award winners.
Over the years, the Harness Racing Owners' Association has fast become a major player within Victoria's harness racing ranks.
The HROA in collaboration with the Metropolitan Harness Racing Club (MHRC) is offering harness racing participants a chance to enjoy a new range of benefits including racecourse admission, invitations to exclusive events, and this year, the chance to share in $100,000 worth of bonuses through the Bonus Racing Scheme.We strongly advise members to encourage their trainer to nominate your horses at venues conducting the Bonus Races.
Whether you own one horse, or a stable full of them, the new HROA/MHRC, in conjunction with HRV, is committed to providing you with an ever-improving member experience.
Our 2008/09 membership has exceeded 1750 members and we anticipate this number to exceed 2000 for season 2009/2010.
With your support, the Harness Racing Owners' Association & Metropolitan Harness Racing Club will continue to support members with opportunities for increased industry participation, and more bonus races.
HARNESS RACING OWNERS' ASSOCIATION LIFE MEMBERS
The Harness Racing Owners' Association has been around for quite a number of years and several of our previous committee members have been responsible for its continuation to this day. Life Membership has been bestowed upon some of these visionaries in appreciation of their contribution to the industry as a whole and the HROA in particular.

It is with deep regret that the HROA has learnt of the sad passing of one of our Life Members, Jack Collins. On behalf of the committee and members, the Harness Racing Owners' Association would like to pass on their condolences to Jack's surviving life partner Desiree and his family & friends.
