Our Major Services
Hydraulic and Pneumatic Cylinders
We provide a complete range of hydraulic and pneumatic cylinder services, from in-house or onsite resealing and routine maintenance to full remanufacturing and bespoke cylinder fabrication. Our capabilities include hydraulic cylinder remanufacturing to restore performance and extend service life, precision resealing using high-quality components, and the manufacture of custom-designed cylinders built to suit specific operating requirements. We also specialise in the repair, modification, and refitting of clevises and mounting points, ensuring correct alignment, strength, and reliable operation in demanding industrial applications.
Custom Turning
Custom turning is a specialised manufacturing process used to produce precise, custom-designed components by removing material from a rotating workpiece on a lathe. During the process, the workpiece spins at controlled speeds while a stationary cutting tool shapes it to achieve exact dimensions, smooth finishes, tight tolerances and threads. Bespoke turning allows manufacturers to tailor components to specific design requirements, materials, and performance needs, making it an essential process in industries such as automotive, aerospace, medical, industrial engineering, mining and hydraulic cylinder repairs. HROA can turn up to 800mm in diameter.
Custom Machining & Milling
Bespoke machining is a specialised manufacturing process focused on milling and precision surfacing, utilising advanced equipment such as indexing heads and rotating tables to produce unique, non-standardised components. This enables the accurate machining of complex profiles, keyways, slots, pockets, bolt patterns, and multi-face features with tight tolerances and consistent surface finishes. Custom machining and milling deliver precise dimensional accuracy, improved component fitment, and reliable repeatability, making the process ideal for one-off parts, prototypes, and small production runs in demanding industrial and engineering applications.
Line Boring & Honing
Line boring and honing are precision machining processes used to restore and accurately align internal bores within large or complex components. Line boring corrects misalignment and wear by machining multiple bores along a single axis to ensure perfect concentricity. Honing then refines the bore to achieve tight tolerances, improved roundness, and a smooth surface finish. Together, these processes ensure proper fit, reliable performance, and extended component service life. HROA can line bore sizes from 25mm to 450mm in diameter.
Re-Sealing & Repair of Hydraulic Cylinders
Hydraulic cylinders are essential components used across Australia's construction, mining, agriculture, transport and manufacturing industries. They convert hydraulic pressure into linear force, allowing machinery to lift, push, pull and operate efficiently. When a hydraulic cylinder fails, equipment downtime can quickly become costly and disruptive to operations. We also offer professional hydraulic cylinder repair and re-sealing services to restore worn or damaged cylinders to reliable working condition, helping maximise performance, extend service life and minimise operational downtime.
Hydraulic Tube (Barrel) Manufacturing
Precision-machined hydraulic tubes, commonly known as barrels, are used in a wide range of industrial applications where strength, pressure resistance and dimensional accuracy are critical. Industries including mining, construction, agriculture, transport and manufacturing rely on quality tubing to ensure dependable equipment performance. We manufacture hydraulic tubes (barrels) in a variety of sizes, diameters and lengths to suit individual customer requirements, maintaining tight tolerances and high-quality finishes to support long service life and reliable operation.
Fabrication of Chrome Rods
Chrome rods are a critical component of every hydraulic cylinder, providing the strength, durability and wear resistance required for reliable operation. HROA fabricates and machines chrome rods for new hydraulic cylinders, rebuilds and repair work. Every rod is manufactured to precise dimensions and finished to ensure smooth operation, excellent wear resistance and long service life. We work closely with our clients to deliver chrome rods suited to their equipment and operating environments.
NDT Inspection & Examination (Magnetic Particle & Dye Penetrant Examination)
Early detection of defects can prevent costly equipment failures and unnecessary downtime. HROA provides Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) services, including Magnetic Particle Examination (MPI) and Dye Penetrant Examination (DPI), to identify surface and near-surface defects in hydraulic components and fabricated parts. These inspection methods allow cracks and imperfections to be detected without damaging the component, ensuring the integrity of critical equipment before it is returned to service. Our NDT services support repair, fabrication and maintenance across a wide range of hydraulic applications.
