2009 HROA/MHRC Achievement Award As
an important part of the Vin Knight Medal awards night, the Harness
Racing Owners' Association and Metropolitan Harness Racing Club have
continued the popular and well respected Season's Achievement Award
which rewards the industry participant who makes a
significant contribution. The three nominees for season 2008-2009 are Kevin Brough, Keith Cotchin and Bill Galea. All attended the Palladium at Crown event of the Harness World with their partners and the winner was -

The Metropolitan Harness Racing Club (MHRC) and Harness Racing Owners Association (HROA) Committees wish to thank their valued sponsors and 1780 existing members for their support during the past racing season. We encourage you, and welcome all new members and sponsors, to support our associations into this new exciting era of harness racing at TabcorpPark, Melton for the 2009/10 racing season. Our membership base continues to increase each year and we are targeting to exceed 2000 members for the 2009/10 racing season.
Both Committees have been working collaboratively over the past few months in preparation for the transition from MooneeValley to TabcorpPark. Our intention in 2010 is to establish a new industry based "Club" entity, in partnership with Harness Racing Victoria. The aim is to deliver added membership benefits to our members and future plans will be outlined at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) later in the year. Members will have the opportunity to provide feedback and to discuss the proposed framework in setting up a single entity.
The branding name for the new membership year will be the '2009/10 Harness Racing Industry Membership Package'. We are pleased to announce for the new season, your membership will include the following:
Membership of the MHRC and HROA
TabcorpPark membership (proposed exclusive members facilities on Level 1, TabcorpPark from 1st January 2010, restricted facilities will be made available up to 31st December 2009)
Maintaining existing MooneeValley rights up to the final meeting on 27th February 2010
2009/10 Harness Card (for full memberships)
We are also delighted to be in a position to inform you of two very special features of your membership in the coming year:
1.The continuation of the popular Owners Bonus scheme, with enhancements which will include TabcorpPark races
2. A dedicated Owners facility on the Ground level at TabcorpPark for the exclusive use for general membership holders and guests, plus participating owners.
Furthermore, membership will also entitle you to 10% venue discounts on food, beverages and accommodation, as well as priority access to major events and race day hospitality.
We believe many of the benefits will bring you much enjoyment and we look forward to your support throughout the 2009/10 racing season. Please note that current 2008/09 membership holders have their membership benefits extended until 30th September 2009.
